Custodian

What you’ll do…

Act in the best interest of the company and tasked with keeping the workplace safe, clean, organized, disinfected

• Clean the interior of the building including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, walls, and entryway
• Dusting, mopping, vacuuming/shampooing carpets
• Complete cleaning, restocking and sanitizing of restrooms
• Restocking paper and soap supplies
• Disinfect commonly used items in lunchrooms, restrooms, and conference rooms
• Empty trash receptacles daily, disposing of trash into the dumpster
• Assist with preparation and set-up as required for events
• Maintain cleaning inventory
• Requires heavy physical work – up to 70% of job

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Time-management and multitasking abilities
• Organizational skills with careful attention to details
• Physical strength and stamina - heavy lifting, pushing-pulling required, objects up to 50 lbs
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work without immediate supervision

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

• Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools
• Prior cleaning experience an asset
• Familiar with safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
