Sensors, Inc.

Innovation Built on Experience

"powered by employee-owners to deliver & support innovative solutions to help our customers improve the air we ALL breathe"

Sensors, Inc. was founded in 1969 in the backyard of the University of Michigan and has gone on to become an innovative leader in the supply of gas analysis and particle measurement instrumentation. Proudly powered by our employee-owners, Sensors has built a strong reputation for solid engineering, manufacturing, testing, and customer support. For over 50 years, Sensors has developed a deep product portfolio to measure criteria pollutants, under the auspices of many different regulatory drivers. Our focus on the automotive transportation sector and specifically emissions from internal combustion engines (ICE) has positioned us well to now expand that portfolio into environmental markets like fugitive emissions.

Sensors’ early years focused on the marketing and development of commercial uses for infrared technologies. As the company grew, Sensors turned their development and technical expertise toward the design, development, and manufacture of transducers to measure gases in medical and automotive applications. The company also expanded geographically to provide local support for its rapidly growing international customer base. In the ‘80s, Sensors, Inc. opened Sensors Europe GmbH in Düsseldorf, Germany. Ten short years later Sensors Europe GmbH acquired Sensors Devices and expanded its product base to include analyzers for environmental applications. More recent expansion included opening a Technical Support Center in Shenzhen, China and by close cooperation with leading distributors in India, Korea, and China to serve major international markets.

Today, Sensors is a noted leader in the supply of gas analysis instrumentation and a leading manufacturer of innovative exhaust analysis solutions for the automotive market worldwide. The company's emissions measurement solutions are used by government regulatory agencies and universities, as well as engine and vehicle manufacturers in the U.S., Europe and Asia, for the measurement of CO, CO2, NO, NO2, THC, NMHC, CH4, NH3, O2, N2O, SF6, Particulate Mass, and Particle Number. Our SEMTECH® DS+ is Sensors' 5th generation Portable Emission Measurement System (PEMS) and culminates more than 20 years of experience in the design, development, and application of PEMS that is significantly reduced in size, weight, and power required.
